The Bangkok floating market started life as a trade market mainly selling fish but has since become a tourist attraction, selling food and souvenirs.
The journey to the market took us along canals lined with some very poor living accommodation.
The entrance to the market.
There are hundreds of boats and stalls selling a variety of products.
There is considerable amount of food sold of food sold, not only to the tourists but also the locals.
Even vendors selling cooked food.
It gets very congested at times, I am surprised there are not more accidents but everybody seems to accept it.
Great pictures John, keep them coming, there seems to be a big contrast between the calm culture up in the mountains and the hectic floating market scenes, what about the noise in the two places? I totally agree about the snakes, I saw one in Kenya.....not good !!
