After leaving Cervantes and Lake Thetis we headed north and stayed at Geraldton for one night. The next day we moved on towards Kalbarri calling in at Port Gregory.
Fishing boats unloading in the bay.
One of the main attractions of Port Gregory is Hutt Lagoon, a lake high in salt, where the water is turned pink by a bacteria “Dunaliella salina” which gets trapped in the salt granules and provides a rich source of Beta Carotene. This is harvested in small pools.
Moving up the coast there are some interesting rock formations to be seen.
This is called Natural Bridge.
We stayed the night at Kalbarri Caravan Park ready to go into the Kalbarri National Park the next day.
