Stromatolites, Lake Thetis

Lake Thetis is one of only four locations in the world where Stromatolites can be found, I have spoken about these before after visiting the Thrombolites at Lake Clifton. There are further examples at Hamelin Pool which I will be visiting later.

They don’t look very exciting a bit like underwater cow pats about 500mm across but it is exciting to see them and absorb the historical importance of this find.

The water was clearer here than at Lake Clifton.
